ClearPractice Version 3.0 Receives ONC-ATCB Certification by Drummond Group

SaaS-based Electronic Medical Record Solutions Meet Physician Requirements for Meaningful Use

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ClearPractice, a provider of innovative software solutions for physicians and medical groups, announced today that Version 3.0 of its Electronic Medical Records solution has received the federal government's “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning ONC-ATCB certification. This designation officially deems its solution capable of enabling providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Tested and certified under Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the EMR software is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

“At ClearPractice, our mission is to remove the many impediments doctors currently face as they look to incorporate EMR technology within their practice by offering them solutions that are easy to purchase, implement, learn and use,” says Joel Andersen, president of ClearPractice. “Cost has certainly been a substantial barrier for many independent physician practices, and Drummond Group's rigorous evaluation and certification of our software assures physicians they are not only adopting a state of the art EMR system but also one that qualifies them for incentive funds under ARRA.”

Drummond Group's ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology -- a key component of the federal government's push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

ClearPractice Version 3.0, which met the requirements for ONC-ATCB certification, includes scheduling, charting, prescribing, inpatient rounds, lab review/ordering, messaging and more. The product also seamlessly integrates with the company's SaaS-based billing system so charges are automatically captured, scrubbed, and electronically submitted for payment. In conjunction with these solutions, ClearPractice also offers Nimble, a comprehensive EMR application for the iPad connecting either through a wireless or 3G connection to ClearPractice's SaaS environment.

“With the advent of meaningful use regulations, health information technology is now a critical part of healthcare's future in the United States. Electronic medical records will be a driving force behind coming changes in the quality, cost and efficiency of care,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of Drummond Group, Inc. “Drummond Group is ready to help transform the industry by providing sophisticated software testing services to ensure vendors and care providers are offering systems capable of meeting these meaningful use standards, allowing providers to obtain incentive funds and leverage the rich functionality required to propel the industry forward.”
